Working in collaboration with Theun Mosk and Boukje Schweigman Holkham near Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk it’s theatre, but not as we know it (The Telegraph, May 2012).
An interesting project at the end of August saw Midas head to beautiful Holkham on the North Norfolk coastline to provide power solutions to Walking, a major collaboration between the Norfolk & Norwich Festival and the internationally acclaimed American director and artist Robert Wilson.
Set over a three mile stretch of the Holkham Estate in north Norfolk, part walk, part theatrical experience and punctuated by gigantic architectural installations along the way, the project posed many challenges both in the build and event delivery itself. Working on one of the largest nature reserves in the country saw the entire team focus on their impact on the local environment.
Diesel generator hire norwich specialist, Midas, powered the event with three generators, two 18kVA sets and our bespoke super silent 5kVA set for the centre section of the walk where sound levels were critical. Developed for the Olympic Torch Relay, Midas took a standard Pramac P4500 and developed an attenuated box to sit over the machine delivering sound levels of no more than 59db at 1m.
Escape the pressures of modern-day living this summer as the stunning landscape of the north Norfolk coastline becomes the stage for an extraordinary outdoor adventure.
Walking will heighten your senses and thrillingly alter your perceptions of space and time.
