Generator Fuel Management

Never Run Dry

A generator that runs out of fuel is as useful as one that was never delivered. For sites where daily manual checks are not practical, remote agricultural locations, long-term infrastructure projects, and unattended industrial installations, fuel management removes the risk of an unexpected shutdown entirely.

Midas monitors fuel consumption remotely via the telematics systems fitted to our entire hire fleet, and we schedule deliveries based on actual consumption data rather than a fixed calendar. Your generator keeps running. You do not have to think about it.

The Complete Managed Power Package

Combine generator hire, external fuel tank hire, remote monitoring and fuel management into a single contracted package. Midas handles specification, delivery, monitoring, fuelling and maintenance, you focus on your project.

How It Works

Fuel Supply

Midas supplies DERV (standard white diesel EN590). For Stage V machines, AdBlue top-up is included as part of the fuel management service. We track AdBlue consumption separately and ensure your machine never experiences an AdBlue runout, which can cause a Stage V generator to derate or shut down.

HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) is available on request for customers who require a sustainable fuel supply. HVO is a drop-in renewable diesel substitute compatible with most diesel engines without modification.

Who Benefits Most

Agricultural Customers

Irrigation systems, grain driers, poultry and livestock facilities, and other agricultural operations often run generators in locations that are not checked daily. A fuel management contract means these critical systems keep running through harvest, lambing and other high-demand periods without manual fuel monitoring.

Long-Term Construction Sites

Site compounds and welfare facilities on projects lasting months need a reliable fuel supply. Fuel management integrates with our generator hire to provide a complete, low-maintenance power solution.

Remote and Off-Grid Sites

For offshore, marine and other remote applications, fuel management is essential. Our telematics allow us to monitor machines and plan deliveries without the cost of regular site visits.

Standby Power Installations

For standby generators at commercial, healthcare and industrial premises, fuel management ensures the machine has adequate fuel at all times, not just when someone remembers to check.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you monitor fuel levels remotely?

Fuel level data is transmitted via the JCB Livelink and DSEWebNet telematics systems fitted to all our hire machines. This is a standard feature of our hire fleet, not an additional service.

In normal circumstances, our monitoring gives us 24–48 hours’ advance notice before a tank reaches a critical level, and we schedule deliveries accordingly. For emergency deliveries, contact us directly. We will respond as quickly as our fleet availability allows.

Fuel delivery can be discussed for customer-owned generators. Remote monitoring of third-party machines depends on the control systems fitted. Contact us to discuss.

Yes. AdBlue top-up is included in our fuel management service for Stage V generators. We track consumption and deliver before your machine runs low.
