Generator Remote Monitoring
Real-Time Performance Data
A generator running unattended on a remote agricultural site, a critical standby installation at a healthcare facility, or a long-term infrastructure project miles from the nearest town, all of these share the same requirement: you need to know the machine is running as it should, without being physically present to check.
Midas equips every machine on our hire fleet with remote monitoring as standard. No extra charge, no optional upgrade, it comes with the generator.
Our Monitoring Platforms
JCB Livelink
JCB Livelink is a web-based telematics platform providing real-time and historical data from JCB-powered machines. Through a browser or mobile app, you can view:
- Current engine status - running, standby or fault
- Fuel level and estimated remaining runtime
- Engine oil pressure and coolant temperature
- Battery voltage
- Runtime hours and service due alerts
- GPS location
DSEWebNet
DSEWebNet is the monitoring platform linked to Deep Sea Electronics control panels, which are fitted to a large proportion of our hire fleet. It provides:
- Live load monitoring - kW, kVA and power factor
- Voltage and frequency data for all phases
- Fuel level and consumption rate
- Alarm history and event log
- Configurable alert thresholds - receive notifications when fuel drops below a set level or load exceeds a defined limit
What Remote Monitoring Means in Practice
For a Midas hire customer, remote monitoring means:
- No unexpected shutdowns - fuel alerts and fault alarms are triggered before problems become failures
- Evidence for fuel management - consumption data feeds directly into refuelling scheduling
- Faster response - our team sees fault alerts at the same time you do, often before you call us
- Multi-set visibility - for synchronised generator installations, all machines in a bank are monitored from a single dashboard.
- Peace of mind on remote sites - agricultural, marine, and offshore customers particularly value the ability to check machine status without a site visit.
Remote Monitoring on Purchased Generators
If you have purchased a generator from Midas or are considering doing so, we can supply and configure a remote monitoring system as part of the installation.
Both JCB Livelink and DSEWebNet can be added to existing machines with compatible control systems. Contact us to discuss retrofit options.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I get access to the monitoring dashboard myself?
For most hire customers, monitoring is managed by Midas. If you require direct dashboard access as part of your hire arrangement, speak to us and we will set this up.
What happens when the system generates an alert?
Our team receives fault and threshold alerts in real time. Depending on the nature of the alert, we will contact you directly, dispatch an engineer or arrange emergency fuel delivery.
Is remote monitoring available on all hire machines?
All machines in the Midas hire fleet are equipped with either JCB Livelink or DSEWebNet monitoring as standard. Platform availability varies by machine model; confirm with us when booking.
