Standby Generators - Our Most Popular Sale
A standby generator is there for one purpose: to start automatically when your mains supply fails and keep critical systems running until it is restored. It may sit unused for months at a time, but when it is needed, it must perform without hesitation.
The Himoinsa Standby range is our most frequently recommended product for this application. These machines are engineered specifically for backup power, they are not hire units or prime power machines adapted for standby use. Options include:
- Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) control panel - starts the generator when mains power is lost

Prime Power Generators
For sites without a reliable mains supply, farms, remote agricultural operations, off-grid construction projects and certain industrial applications, a prime power generator runs as the primary electricity source rather than a backup.
These applications require different machine specifications and, typically, a more detailed initial consultation. We will work through your load schedule and usage profile before making a recommendation.

Himoinsa
Himoinsa produces generator sets from 6kVA to multi-megawatt outputs for standby, prime and continuous power applications. Their Standby range is particularly well-suited to commercial and agricultural backup power.
We have supplied and installed Himoinsa machines in a wide range of applications and maintain many in the field through our service contracts.

Yes, and we recommend taking one. Every machine we sell can be covered by a Midas maintenance contract, typically offered as an annual, bi-annual or quarterly arrangement depending on your usage.

What warranty comes with a new generator?
Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and model. We will confirm current warranty details for any machine you are considering at the point of quotation.
