BP Summer Big ScreeningsMidas were delighted to be involved yet again with the 2009 BP Summer Big Screens a showcase of live performances of exclusive ballet and opera productions screened live from the Royal Opera House onto the BP Summer Screens in locations around the country as well as London itself.
Tuesday 30th June saw Midas in Christchurch Park Ipswich, familiar home ground, providing power, mains and distribution for the live screening of La Traviata. All in our third year a compact technical team comprising of Dobson Sound (P.A), Arqiva (live satellite link), and one Masstenik’s imposing screens led by the ever-cheerful ROH on site technical manager Tom Manning. The sun shone (for a change) and frankly a good day was had by all!!
Fast forward two weeks to the 15th July saw the whole operation repeated only this time on London’s Trafalgar Square for a live screening of The Barber of Seville. Positioned at the base of Nelsons Column and dwarfed by the screen one of our 30KVAs sat between the lions purring in its own way, helping to bring enjoyment to the thousands that turned up for this free spectacle.
