The Age of Stupid, a film that began life as a low budget climate change documentary was launched as the biggest simultaneous premiere of all time on Londons Leicester Square this March.

Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite (In The Name of the Father, Brassed Off) stars as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, looking back at “archive” footage from 2007 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?

Midas provided a 60KVA generator with mains and distribution powering ancillary services around Leicester Square and heating the Cinema tent, whilst A-list celebs ate peddle-powered popcorn in the tent, thousands of people in 64 cinemas up and down the country held their own events, watching the same broadcast but with local guest speakers. It was ‘a people’s premiere’ – fitting for an independent film financed through the generosity of 228 different investors.
