Midas took top honours from the Suffolk Carbon Charter this spring, the Gold award signifying the business as, ‘an exemplar of low carbon management’.

Designed to encourage and acknowledge Suffolk companies’ green achievements, Carbon Charter gongs are independently assessed by qualified auditors. It’s fair to describe the Bronze standard as ‘achievable’. The awards’ base is about being inclusive, galvanising the county to be the greenest in the country. Gold, though, demands real rigour.

On top of all the rudimentary, commercial heart in the right place, Bronze elements, Midas had to show ‘significant and robust’ carbon reduction and a clear commitment to engaging others to secure the standard. A question the company’s lifelong commitment to pure biodiesel answered very loudly.

“Midas is involved with events and industry right across the UK, but local initiatives like the Suffolk Carbon Charter are an invaluable means of persuading SMEs into diminishing their footprints,” Operations Director, Andy Dann, said. “And it’s great to be recognised for the efforts we make, both commercially and around the yard and the office.”
