midas-triple-crownThe first, an innovation award for an knowledge transfer programme with De Montfort University, the second, a ‘Great and Green’ award for development of biodiesel generators and the third, a gold standard for its carbon reduction measures.

Midas won the innovation award for its investigation into minute-by-minute electricity demand data analysis and control systems to ensure efficient operation of the company’s generator fleet, as well as its research into the potential for energy storage. ‘The Great and Green’ award was won for the company’s development work on their first biodiesel generator: a power unit which runs on 100% biodiesel (B100) solely derived from used cooking oil (UVO).

Lastly, Midas has been granted the Carbon Charter Gold award within its home county of Suffolk. The Carbon Charter is awarded to companies that are monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions. The Gold Charter is only awarded to companies deemed to be exemplifying best practice in terms of internal carbon management, demonstrating significant reductions in carbon emissions and championing the environmental agenda in their community.

David Noble, Managing Director of Midas, comments:

“We have now been recognised for our commitment to the environment and green energy which is extremely unusual for an industrial generator supplier. This makes us an attractive choice for the construction sector. When contractors are looking for a stable source of on-site power and also need to consider environmental impact, our generators meet both criteria”.

Midas is recognised as a leading provider of diesel and biodiesel powered generators for sale or hire to customers throughout the UK. The company currently works within a variety of industries including construction, festivals and events, agriculture, offshore and marine.
