Promoter Music + Sport has been putting on Music Showcase weekends at York Racecourse since 2014. The biggest event of its kind, a combination of Kaiser Chiefs, Corrs, and horses attracted more than 70,000 people over the two days in July.

This video looks at the concept, and the benefits, of mixing racegoers with rock and pop audiences, the onus on value for money and quality over quantity.

Music Showcase tickets, for a day’s racing and an evening of profile entertainment are just £36, and Simon Halden, co-founder of Music + Sport, explains a bit about his business and how he makes the deal attractive for the artists.

Take 20-minutes, get the overview from Halden, the method from William Derby, Chief Executive and Clerk of York Racecourse, the benefits of advanced robotics from Blue Multimedia’s Steve Hill and the production story from Julian Spear, Director of Symphotech.
